Frequently asked questions

What is Sidebar Benefit Advisors?
Sidebar Benefit Advisors is a health insurance enrollment service. We help people compare Medicare plans online and connect with licensed insurance agents in person at participating retail locations, by phone, or online.
Does it cost anything to use Sidebar?
No. Comparing plans and meeting with a licensed agent through Sidebar are free.
What is a Scope of Appointment?
A short form Medicare requires before a licensed agent can discuss Medicare Advantage or prescription drug plans with you. It records which product types you agreed to talk about, and it does not obligate you to enroll in anything.
Do I have to enroll if I meet with an agent?
No. A consultation is free and carries no obligation. Signing a Scope of Appointment or meeting with an agent never enrolls you in a plan; enrollment only happens if you choose a plan and complete an application.
Who are the agents I meet through Sidebar?
Licensed insurance agents appointed with the carriers whose plans they present. Agents on the Sidebar platform complete annual certifications before assisting with any carrier's plans.
How do I get more help?
Call 1-855-686-2911 (TTY 711) or send us a message through the contact page. If you are working with an agent, they are your fastest path to an answer.

The Medicare plans represented are PDP, HMO, PPO, or PFFS plans with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in plans depends on contract renewal. Enrollment in a plan may be limited to certain times of the year. Eligibility may require a Special or Initial Enrollment Period.

This is a solicitation for insurance. By requesting information, scheduling a call, or initiating a chat, you agree to be contacted by a licensed insurance agent by phone, email, or text message to discuss Medicare insurance plans. Standard messaging rates may apply.
