Drug coverage and PlanMatch

PlanMatch is Sidebar's tool for matching plans to your actual medications and pharmacy. Your licensed agent uses it during a consultation, and only with your permission.

Adding medications while you browse

  1. On the Compare Plans page you can add your prescriptions and preferred pharmacy yourself, with no account required.
  2. Plans are then sorted with your drug coverage match reflected, so plans that cover your medications rank higher.

The pharmacy data authorization

  1. If you are working with an agent, they may send you a secure authorization link by text message or show you a QR code.
  2. The authorization screen lists exactly what would be accessed: your medications, prescribing doctors, and pharmacy history.
  3. It also lists what is never accessed: diagnoses, lab results, and financial information such as your Social Security number.
  4. Nothing is shared until you select the authorization button.

Your data rights

  1. Authorization is optional. If you decline, your agent can enter your medications manually instead.
  2. Authorized pharmacy data is deleted automatically after 30 days.
  3. Your information is handled under HIPAA privacy protections.

Drug prices shown during a consultation are estimates based on plan formulary data. Your plan and pharmacy confirm final pricing.
